Durango with the Colorado Stricklers

Balin and Charlie talkin' and walkin'.

We borrowed scooters from Aunt Sue and it made traveling a "breeze!"

Pepe Lou did a face plant - but she got right up and got scootin' after a kiss or two.

Everyone playin' at the park.

Durango. One of the most beautiful places on earth I think. The mountains are high, the valley low and wide and all the scenery is breathtaking. We rented a house near downtown, where we can walk to the river, downtown and to the near by park. We brought razor scooters and the kids are having a blast on them. They love scootin' down the block and racin' around. I love the fact that Perrin doesn't say "I'm tired" - I think we'll get the kids some scooters.
For the most part we've been just hanging around enjoying the company of aunts and uncles. Yesterday we went up to Purgatory and went on the alpine slides. Perrin and Danielle shared a slide and it was reported that Perrin kept saying, "Faster Danielle!" while Charlie must have gotten a slow sled as he was a good 3 minutes behind me. Afterwards we headed to the gold panning area where Sam and Perrin came home with a handful of chrystals and minerals. They thought it was pretty cool.
We were hoping to go on the river with inner tubes today, but we woke up to cloudy overcast skies and tired children. We opted instead to hang out at the house and get some rest. We've got an 8 hour drive ahead of us tomorrow. Monday brings school for both Sam and Perrin and a 12 day trip to Columbia for Balin.
