Looking through my pictures on my phone makes me realize that we've been on a bunch of adventures this month. By the pictures you would think we were one happy family, which we are most of the time, but often I have to drag the kids out and tell them "suck it up - this is going to be fun whether you like it or not". My guess is we're not the only family who has this issue. That's one of the reasons I take photos, to remind the kids how much fun they had.

| Took the kids to the Peavine trail to go mountain biking. We got off our bikes and hiked around a bit. It was fun but after 5 miles the kids were ready to go home. |

Mother's Day weekend was pretty packed. We took the kids jeeping on some back roads in the mountains around Prescott. We saw 3 snakes, including one rattler, in the course of our drive. Perrin and I stayed in the car for all the viewings but the boys went and got the little guys out of the road, everyone but the rattler - we didn't play with him as he was mad.

| Sam might be driving solo on the back roads soon - he's getting too big for his dad's lap. He's really good at driving and does decent job at going over obstacles. |

| After breakfast we headed to the cabin to take a family walk - a dog for each person. |

| Our walk took us to the rock garden, where the kids spent an hour playing. |

| Perrin was scared coming down the rock so Sam put his hand out to keep her from falling. Perhaps not so effective but touching none the less. |

My dear friend Anna and her two kids were in dire need of an outing. So I picked them up, went out to Chipotle for lunch and then headed to Wolf Creek where we played in the water.

The kids begged us to go out to the cabin so they could climb on the rocks. This time Sophie and Van joined us. My mom and brother from Seattle came up also we had a giant sleep over that was really fun.
After years of asking Sam if he wanted to join a sport, play an instrument, participate in a club with the answer always being "No Thank you Mom, I just want to come home and play", Sam finally asked if he could take drum lessons. He's very excited and has been practicing every day.
Obie our new cat is a little traumatized by the big, furry creatures that roam our yard day in and day out, so he stays in the crate most of the day. He was found at the kids school living under one of the buildings. A parent, who is also a vet, took him to her practice and got him back into shape with shots, medication and food. Unfortunately no one wanted the little guy so he stayed at the vets for 6 weeks in a cage. I heard that he still didn't have a home and I just couldn't leave him a day longer in that cage. So Friday we picked him up from the vet and brought him home where he lives outside and seems quite content. Yogi and Daisy are very, very interested in him, but Obie's not really interested in them.
