Balin's mom and dad showed up last week for a quick trip to see the Grandkids before we left for Switzerland. We decided that it was important to hang out with the GP's while they were here. So we loaded up the truck and headed up to the cabin for the night. It was so much fun to hang out at the big cabin for the night. We had dinner, went for a walk to the bouldering area the kids like so much and watched an amazing sunset from the rocking chairs on the front porch. That night was hot though and it reminded us why we don't spend the nights there in the summer. We left the windows open and we were bombarded with mosquitos all night long. Yuck. I've got to get those screens done and put back on before we spend the night there again.
The next morning we headed back home, dropped off the dogs and then headed to Jerome and Sedona for a quick afternoon of fun. We went to Slick Rock which earned it's name. It's really, really slippery which also is helpful getting down the slidey parts. It was freezing cold out that day, well in the 70's, and the water was freezing so it wasn't an enthusiastic jump in and have fun day. I think Grandma bribed the kids with $5 to go down the water slides. It worked, but they only went down a couple of times before they were ready to go.
Grandma of the Woods is currently busy watching the little ones this week while we are in Switzerland. She is being relieved this Saturday by my mom who will watch them for 8 days when we meet them at the airport in Phoenix.
Tomorrow we're meeting our tour group for the next two weeks. We're ready and I'll take some pictures and post some of the activities we've been doing. Until then - schoene Nacht!
