We made it to Switzerland

After a long journey we landed in rain and fog.  There was not a mountain to be seen and we wondering if we were in the right place.  We grabbed some food at the local Coop, made dinner, downed two Tylenol pm's and headed to bed.  When we woke up we knew we were in the right spot as there were the mountains looking at us from our bed!  Ahhh, Switzerland.  Land of the steep mountains and valley, fresh water out of the tap and clean air.

After getting to Grindelwald on Saturday afternoon, I got a beer, sat on the lounge chair outside and took in the view.  My first thought was, "This might beat Christie Hamman's view!"
In Grindelwald we slept in a bunk room which was great except that Balin doesn't even close to fitting into a bunk room and the walls are paper thin.  There was a 1year old next door that woke up screaming every 1/2 hour or so.  Don't miss those days.

In our recently created tradition, Balin and I stop off at huts and enjoy a beer and torte.  This is the first and perhaps last of the trip.  New Alpinehikers policy, no drinking and hiking.  Oh well, we can still have torte.
